Viet Hub Library

We offer a free Vietnamese community library for everyone to share and learn about our roots.

Viet Hub Library, formerly known as Hands to Heart, is the first initiative by Viet Hub NZ. Founded with a mission to connect the Vietnamese community in New Zealand, it fosters a love for Vietnamese literature and culture through book sharing. What began as a small community project has now grown into a platform where members can borrow, donate, and exchange Vietnamese books, keeping the rich heritage of Vietnam alive.

Viet Hub Library plays a significant role in fostering cultural pride and connection within the Vietnamese community, offering access to stories, history, and traditions that keep their roots alive. By offering bilingual folktales like The Golden Fish and The Story of the Man in the Moon, we aim to share Vietnam’s cultural treasures with younger generations and other communities in New Zealand.

How It Works

Viet Hub Library offers free borrowing of Vietnamese and bilingual books, encouraging the community to share their own collections. Our catalogue includes a variety of books, from folktales to bilingual editions, helping to preserve and promote Vietnamese culture. Whether you’re an avid reader, a parent passing down traditions, or curious about Vietnamese culture, we welcome you to join us. Borrow a book, donate your favourites, and help us grow this cultural exchange. Let’s turn the pages together and connect through our shared love of Vietnamese literature.

Vinh Nguyen - Viet Hub NZ Lead

Born from a simple yet powerful idea

Viet Hub Founder Vinh Nguyen, a passionate reader, sought to donate her collection of Vietnamese books but found no local platform for Vietnamese readers. After a post in a Facebook group, it became clear there was a shared desire for a community library. The response led to the creation of Viet Hub Library, where people could connect, borrow books, and contribute their own, creating a shared literary experience.
